· To further develop, through educational programs, a body of knowledge on which Coaches and Instructors may draw.

· To provide Coaches and Instructors with employment opportunities, encouragement, and support.

· To advance Surf Coaching and Instructing as a globally standardized and highly professional activity with stringent requirements.

How Surfing Federation of India facilitates ISA developmental programs?

We realized the importance of various ISA developmental programs required to structure the growth of the sport in the right direction, very early after the inception of SFI.

SFI has continuously held ISA Surf Instructor Courses, SUP Courses and Judging & Officiating programs since 2014 across India certifying over 100 domestic and international participants.

Through these programs, we have been able to empower many youths to find respectable surf and SUP instructors positions around the world. Many have gone onto open their own new surf schools and clubs along the coastline of India thus helping in the growth of the surf industry.

Over time this program will expand to many other areas of professional development education for our great sport of surfing.  All ISA Coaches and Instructors must abide by the local laws and regulations of the area in which they work. All ISA Instructors must be a minimum of 16 years of age to become an accredited ISA Instructor but must work under the supervision of an ISA Instructor over 18 years of age.  An ISA Instructor must be a minimum of 18 years of age to instruct without supervision.
