Announcing the first SFI event of the year 2021!
SFI is delighted to announce the first event of the National Championships for 2021 at Surf Turf, Covelong, Chennai from 9th to 11th August 2021 powered by TT Group. (Events will commence on the best 2 days within this time frame.)
We have restructured the event format with a focus on smaller events with accredited schools getting priority for participation. We have a national ranking system and increased prize money.
Covelong Classic at Surf Turf will be 'athletes only' without public participation to follow Covid-19 protocols of social distancing. We will however be showcasing the event online for your followers and enthusiasts.

from Accredited Surf Schools:
Total of 6 slots allocated for men’s categories, number of participants per category is flexible
No cap on women participants
Entry fee of Rs 500 per person
from Non-Accredited Surf Schools
2 slots allocated in the men’s categories
1 slot allocated for women
Entry fee of Rs 2,000 per person
from Individual/Free Surfers
10 wildcard entries only, 5 per category
Must have participated in previous SFI events
Entry fee of Rs 2,000 per participant

Note:
Minimum of 6 participants required to run any category
Non-Indian passport holders who have contested before in SFI events can only take part - no points would be allocated but prize money would be awarded
Online Registrations will open on 26th of July 2021 on https://
surfingfederationofindia.org Your registration fee covers your entry to participate in 1 category + 1 discipline only + lunch. It does not include any accommodation, transport or meals during the competition
Participants should carry their own face masks, water bottles and towels for the event
Participants must maintain social distancing and follow all Covid-19 protocols set by the government
It is mandatory to have a negative RTPCR test done (within 48 hours prior to event)
Participants must carry their own equipment, spares & repairs, no gear will be provided in any category (If you wish to rent any equipment you should contact the host school directly).
