Covelong Classic 2022 Results – KISHORE KUMAR HOLDS ALL THE LIMELIGHT ON THE LAST DAY

Kovalam, Chennai, August 7th, 2022: Kishore Kumar, the 14-year-old local lad stunned everyone by upsetting many seasoned international surfers to win the Men’s International Open here at the Covelong Classic Surf Championships. In the final against Lankan top surfer, Praneeth S, Kishore maneuvered the waves beautifully to win the race by a slender margin of 0.17 points and a total score of 12.40 and Praneeth scored 12.23. Ajeesh Ali secured third place in this category.

Mahabalipuram, 02nd August 2022:  Ramesh Budhilal, Kishore Kumar, Sugar Banarse, and Kalmali P fought the waves and the other competitors to be the National Champions in their respective categories on the final day of the Mahabs Point Break Challenge – one of the two National Surfing Championships conducted by the Surfing Federation of India in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu.

The Palkbay National Stand Up Paddling Championships – Results

Rameswaram, 1st May 2022: The Palkbay National Stand-Up Paddling Championships 2022, sanctioned by the Surfing Federation of India - the governing body for the sport of surfing & stand-up paddling (SUP), came to to to an end today at the picturesque Pirappanavalsai beach, Rameswaram. The two-day event saw intense competitions in various categories for men, women, and groms (U16), and the finals of Distance Race (12km for men and 6km for women) and Sprint (200 m) were held today.  Sekar Patchai & Monicka Pugazharasu were adjudged the National Champions of the Men’s (12 KM) & Women’s (6 KM) Distance Race while Gayatri Juvekar became the national champion for the Women’s Technical (2 KM) & Sprint (200 Mts.) Races.
